Winter Focus is a time of fellowship and relaxation. Winter Focus is perfectly timed in the middle of your school year when the daily grind is getting overwhelming and you just need a moment to re-center. The Professional Enrichment committee works diligently to find the most accredited workshop facilitators that can provide each teacher with practical application for the classroom. CEU certificates are given at the end of the event. Scholarships are available for 1st time attendees who paid full fees and attended the previous Fall Sharing.

Winter Focus is held at the beautiful Trinity Center on Emerald Isle,

The cost of the weekend includes room, board, and workshop.

Our next Winter Focus will be February 16-18, 2024 where we will focus on Acting for the camerat lead by TBA.

NCTAE is proud to partner with the NC Thespian Society to promote student playwriting. The purpose of NC Young Playwrights Playwriting Individual Event at the NC Thespian Festival is to encourage students across North Carolina to write plays/theatrical events. Students may enter their theatrical work upon their chapter's registration for the Thespian Society Festival (please click on 'Learn More' below to learn how to register your chapter for the Festival). Students will develop their play and a staged reading of their work. The focus should be on playwriting and the presentations should have limited set pieces and no costumes. Entries may be created by one author or an ensemble. Each school may bring one entry.

This Festival will be March 2023 in Greensboro, NC
