The North Carolina Theatre Arts Educators (NCTAE) annually honors an outstanding theatre arts educator in North Carolina with the NCTAE Educator of the Year Award. 

 

This award is presented to a theatre arts educator who has achieved a high standard of quality in their pedagogical endeavors. This person also has gone beyond the call of duty to provide an exceptional program that benefits their students and community and has shown their passion and dedication to the profession of theatrical arts. This recognition is presented at the Fall Sharing event and celebrates excellence in theatre education.

 

DETAILS

The award is given to a theatre arts educator who:

• Demonstrates a high standard of quality in teaching

• Goes above and beyond in providing a program that benefits both students and the community

• Shows passion and dedication to the theatre education profession

• The recipient is nominated by peers and selected through a voting process at Fall Sharing.

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Must be an active NCTAE member

• Must be a theatre arts educator in North Carolina

• Must be nominated through a letter of nomination submitted before the Fall Sharing event
